Guerilla knit

Guerilla knitting

Friday, 30 October - Saturday, 7 November

From Friday, 30 October: Wollongong City Gallery
From Wednesday, 4 November: Crown St Mall and Globe Lane
Saturday, 7 November: MacCabe Park

Wollongong street furniture will never look as good as this again! Installations featuring the colourful stitchings of grrl+dog aka Denise Litchfield and her dingo kelpie in collusion with local knitters. Random knitted graffiti will make us marvel at the possibilities of this traditional craft and the power of 'craftism' to change the ordinary or highlight the extraordinary.

Australia’s first guerilla knitter, Denise Litchfield has been creating knitted sensations wherever she goes. From the back streets of Newtown and Redfern, to the National Gallery in Canberra grrl+dog leaves a colourful and striking artwork on a street or gallery corner near you!

Local writers and poets will tag the installations with their literary musings.
