Viva La Gong

The 2010 festival will take place on Saturday, 6 November.

Viva la Gong is Wollongong’s premier celebration of creativity, diversity, innovation and community.  In 2009 the popular festival attracted over 4,000 people to MacCabe Park to enjoy a popular and accessible program of music and performance headlined by Lior.

The festival has been credited with "giving the city's annual arts celebration a greater sense of community”.

At this year’s festival the event will feature a giant street parade, festival program with multiple stages at MacCabe Park, arts and craft stalls, creative workshops, international food fair and an eco-village.

The theme for Viva in 2010 is “Stories from land and Sea” to explore issues of migration, diversity, the sea, sustainability and the environment.
