Headlining this year's Viva is the popular and hugely successful Australian singer-songwriter LIOR. LIOR's musical style is a blend of contemporary roots and blues with Middle Eastern influences.
An uncommercial and uncompromising musician, LIOR launched his musical career independently in 2005 with the self-financed album Autumn Flow. Autumn Flow became one of the most successful independent debuts in Australian history.
Influenced by the singer/songwriter generation of the 1960's and 1970's, Lior's music reflects his diverse and eclectic interests in traditional eastern and pop music. His music explores traditional Hebrew, Jewish, Indian and Arabic genres. LIOR is a talented guitarist and vocalist; his music has a deep sense of lyric and melody. His laid-back charm lends itself to a great stage presence and live performance.
Migrating with his family to Australia from Israel at the age of 10, LIOR finds 'the open multiculturalism very positive to music in Australia'. He also thrives on a 'flourishing independent roots music scene where acoustic song writing is encouraged'. LIOR likes to collaborate with various artists from classical musicians and symphony orchestras to visual artists and animators.
Make sure you experience this unique opportunity to see and hear LIOR perform live with his band - an experience you will not want to miss!
