If you see a streak of colour or hear the sound of wheels flying past you in the park, watch out for Wollongong’s own Roller Derby girls, WIRD. They will be free-wheeeling and skating around the mall and park.

Set up in 2009, WIRD are a group of passionate skaters who are determined to bring this exhilarating sport back to the Illawarra.With ongoing advice from Sydney Roller Derby League (SRDL), and lots of sweat, grunts and hard skating, these girls are on track to bringing their dreams to life.
